Zombie apocalypse reality show launched and screening for BBC Three

BBC Three last year commissioned a reality television show last year where contestants will have to survive a 'Zombie attack'.

Was fantastic to get the call last September from the makers for some of our 'Zombie Extras' to appear in this new reality TV show 'I Survived A Zombie Apocalypse' launched yesterday where we see eight people trapped in a shopping centre surrounded by the walking dead and If they get bitten they will 'leave the show in a grisly style'

The show made by 'Tiger Aspect', the company behind 'Bad Education' and 'Peaky Blinders' comes at a time when am sure a lot of you are thinking the same thing as me that reality TV as won over a drama that got cancelled in that the BAFTA award-winning 'In the Flesh' also on BBC Three was axed after its second series.

With the launch and screening yesterday at Covent Garden Hotel more news came to light and it was explained that Eight contestants will begin an apocalyptic adventure trapped together in a shopping mall, surrounded by the walking dead. The contestants must live by their wits, make difficult decisions, and use urban survival tactics. Their ultimate goal is to avoid the lethal bite of a zombie and stay alive.

During their intense stay, they will face tasks that are necessary for their survival. These tasks are potentially dangerous and will put them in close contact with the undead. The threat will be constant: one bite and they will leave the show in grisly style.

It’s a question of teamwork, as the more of them that stay alive the easier it is to thrive in a zombie-eat-human world. The Army is on its way, but how many of the contestants will have what it takes to survive a zombie apocalypse?

Filming of Apocalypse, the next huge UK zombie film.

The film focuses on Kat played by young British actress and model Ruth Galliers - a journalist who has previously been a prisoner of war in Burma.

As well as struggling to deal with returning to work and suffering from post traumatic stress disorder, she now has to cope with a zombie invasion. She is trapped in a six-storey news channel building, trying to reach her boyfriend on the outside.

The film is being made by Jopia Productions, an independent film company run by two brothers, producer and screenwriter Stuart and director Tony Jopia, who lives in Deddington. They have previously made a number of horror comedy films, including Crying Wolf.

Cockneys vs Zombies will be on your TV next Tuesday

Back in 2009 we was first approached to supply the supporting artists for a film and thus embarked on an ambitious production which was originally called 'Undead in London' After two years, 3 script writers and numerous rewrites 'Cockneys vs Zombies' was born.

'Cockneys vs Zombies' went into production in the spring of 2011 and was filmed in Wandsworth, Canary Wharf and Sutton, Surrey.

The film premiered at the 2012 London FrightFest Film Festival. It was released on Blu-ray and DVD on September 3, 2013 and on Tuesday 87th October you will be able to see our film 'Cockneys vs Zombies' on your television at home.

On set at Wandsworth Ram Brewery
Plot
In a building site being developed by Hartman Construction in the East End of London, two construction workers discover a 17th-century graveyard ordered sealed by Charles II and are bitten by zombies, setting off a zombie outbreak in the area.

Terry MacGuire and his younger brother Andy are planning a bank robbery so they can save their ex-gangster grandfather Ray's retirement home from being demolished by property developers, along with the assistance of their cousin Katy, hopeless Davey Tuppence, and "Mental" Mickey, an unstable war veteran who has a large supply of weapons. During the robbery, the group finds they've crashed an embezzlement deal between the bank manager and the head of Hartman Construction. Expecting to find a few hundred grand, they find themselves staring at 2.5 million in cash. The bank manager had thought they were from Hartman due to their costumes but realizes otherwise and presses an emergency button to the police. The gang take Emma and Clive hostage. Upon leaving the bank, however, the group finds that the police have been killed by a growing horde of zombies. They escape in a van.

Meanwhile, at the retirement home, the zombies attack the residence. Ray and residents Peggy, Daryl, Doreen and Eric take refuge in the kitchen; Ray also rescues a resident named Hamish and gets him inside.

Terry's group arrive at an abandoned site, where Mickey is bitten by a zombie. Emma pleads with Mickey and Davey to let her and Clive go, saying she does not care about their 'selfish' plans, and Katy tells her that they are not robbing the bank for themselves, but to save the retirement home. Mickey decides to leave and takes Emma and Clive with him and ties them up. After Mickey dies and turns into a zombie, he is promptly destroyed by Terry, who rescues Emma and Clive. Clive picks up Mickey's gun and threatens the group, but is promptly eaten by zombies, shooting Davey dead in the process. The rest of the group escape, on the way stopping to look for Emma's younger sister, whom Terry and Emma find as a zombie, but Emma decides not to kill her in case a cure is found.

Having heavily armed themselves at Mickey's gun cache, Terry, Andy, Katy and Emma arrive in a double-decker bus at the retirement home. There, they manage to break the zombie siege and rescue Ray and the other surviving residents. They all then go into the bus, but it breaks down on the way and the group are forced to abandon it. They eventually find a boat which Peggy steals, but it is still chained up. Ray decides to sacrifice himself to save the others, but he still manages to survive and joins the others on the boat as they make their final escape. On the river, the group wonder what will happen next; Ray tells them that they can take East London back for themselves.

Zombie Extras on the BBC1 fantasy drama Atlantis.

Filming as now finished for ‘The Lynch Mob’ supporting artists on the BBC1 fantasy drama ‘Atlantis’

For the last 2 months our guys have been making the way to Chepstow and Bristol for the 2nd series of this popular Saturday afternoon television programme.

With intensive make up, often taking up to four hours to apply they all played characters of undead soldiers and will feature hugely when aired later in the year.

In what was an intensive and exhaustive casting process from so many that applied we and the BBC believe we got the right people for the job and am looking forward to seeing this one on my TV screen.

Well done to all the supporting artists that took part in the filming and thank you o the production company for thinking of us.
